Ohio, Florida and Virginia

60 electoral votes

Three states, Ohio, Florida and Virginia, representing a combined total of 60 electoral votes have become the must win states in this presidential election.

Although the math is less than straightforward it appears that Romney will have to win Ohio, Florida, and Virginia to win the election.  Obama won all three states in the 2008.
