One must remember that Pompeo was a Jordan-like character when he was a member of the House of Representatives, before joining the Trump administration. Jordan-like in the sense of being ethically baseless, and exhibiting a utter lack of appreciation and understanding of the meaning of the US Constitution in regards to the sanctity of the rule of law, which for both Pompeo and Jordan have become their Achilles heels.
Mark Meadows, the subject of a separate article, is easily the fourth stooge even in comparison to the pathetic trio of, Jordan, McCarthy & Nunes. Every since Nunes's California speech, recorded by a member of the audience, in which he says that if Trump is defeated 'this will all come to an end' no one that is in anyway concerned about the preservation of the American Republic as we know it, that is, flawed perhaps, but at the same time ever hopeful of achieving a more perfect union, takes him seriously. In fact, he is a joke, a jester, an out of place character attending a solemn occasion.
Nunes and Senator Burr will long be remembered for the part they played in keeping Trump informed about what their respective committees were doing in relation to the probe into Trump and Russian influence in the 2016 election. Burr, prominently mentioned in the Mueller report, was like Nunes, secretly meeting with Trump while publicly professing bipartisan support for an investigation into Trump's myriad ties to Russian influence in the election. A fact that the press has not pressed Burr on, go figure.
Mike Pompeo joined the Trump administration to advance his white nationalist credentials, a part he plays vigorously, and to his reputational ruin. Surely, Pompeo realizes that his dream of a 2024 run for the presidency is ridiculous, and like Mitchell, jail and not 1600 Pennsylvania Avenues is a much more likely, future residence.
It is amazing to this author that none of Trump's true believers have considered their place in history, which will record them as scoundrels, a mob led by a demagogue, who embraced a racist view of America, and as that ship began to sink, did not show the character of a good captain, and the willingness to go down with the illiberal ship, but as the inevitable surrounded them cried out like cowards, save me, save me.
On the third of October 2019, Mike "Christian first' Pence, the man who as governor of Indiana, stated that Almighty God needed his help, joined the rogues gallery as he lied about his knowledge and participation in the Ukraine strongarm scandal. It is altogether fitting and proper that he resign, or be prosecuted.
But the fate that will forevermore be associated with Mike Pence is that when he would not do Trump's final bidding and interfere with the transition of power from the loser to the winner, Trump told his mob to 'hang, Mike Pence'.
A fitting epitaph for the klansman from Indiana, if ever, there was one.

Remember, that what we know of the now infamous July 25th telephone call is an edited script supplied by Trump and his minions. The actual verbatim transcript will reveal a lot more damaging information, i.e., the clear and unequivocal request to a foreign entity for assistance in an US election for his own personal benefit.
Also on this day, the third of October 2019, after the first two hours of Special Envoy to the Ukraine, Volker's deposition, which at this writing has extended for more than nine hours, Jordan held a news conference to get out in front of the story, Barr fashion concerning the Mueller report.
Again, as did Barr he lied about what Volker had actually said, which amounts to directly and without reservation, telling other Pompeo state department officials to stay away from the conspiracy theory ridden nonsense about the Bidens. And, that the former Ukrainian officials that were feeding the conspiracy story frenzy were unreliable, and would say whatever, in exchange for money and visas, the Trump, Pompeo & Giuliani forces wanted them to say, including the production of fake documents concerning investigations which did and others which not not take place, and conclusions reached in those existent and non-existent investigations.
When Jordan spoke, he had just heard that another envoy for president Trump, Sondland, had in fact drafted a statement for the new president of the Ukraine to sign, committing him to launch investigations into Trump's most likely opponent in the 2020 election, and launching those investigations were explicitly tied to military and other aid for the Ukraine.
Jordan will face a highly electable opponent in his next election, one not afraid to return to sex allegations against Jordan when he was a wrestling coach at Ohio State. Jordan realizes that if Trump is impeached and removed from office, or loses the next election, there is no more Sessions or Barr types around to protect him from investigation of his use of his office to investigate those who accused him of knowing about the sexual assaults and harassment surrounding the wrestling team and doing nothing about it. The next FBI and attorney general, will investigate his misuse of his congressional office to go after his accusers. And, even a loss in his bid for re-election cannot save him from that investigation.
