Oxford, Michigan school shooter's parents ordered to stand trial on multiple counts of manslaughter, as well as, for their criminally reckless behavior for helping their unstable son acquire lethal weapons.
Question: why has State's Attorney, Eric Reinhart, not charged the Highland Park shooter's father, who also helped his unstable son acquire lethal weapons?
... not even Fox News, little-Fox News (CNN), or sly-Fox News (MSNBC), could portray the Highland Park shooter as an internet self-radicalization story, but they tried to do just that

... the suspect's father, said, 'You know you have consequences for actions. He made a choice. He didn't have to do that.'
Those words should come back to haunt him, for he also made a choice, a reckless decision, to assist his son in acquiring the weapons. And, like in the Michigan school shooting case, the parents, helped their son acquired the weapons, which he used lethally, and those actions were both reckless and criminal. If, Eric Rinehart, the Lake County State's Attorney, operates under the same letter and spirit of the law, the Highland Park shooter's father will also be charged with multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter and criminal recklessness, forthwith.
It should surprise no one that Donald Trump will be charged inevitably with multiple counts of manslaughter, for his criminally negligent behavior, which led to the deaths that occurred, subsequent to his criminally negligent behavior.
... criminal recklessness
On four (4) separate occasions that we know of, so far, the Highland Park shooter's father signed and swore to the truthfulness of the statements made on documents to obtain gun licenses, certificates and permits for the weapons the shooter, his son, used to such deadly affect in Highland Park, and contemplated using on a crowd in Madison, Wisconsin, on the same day, the Fourth of July, 2022.
Nowhere on any of the sponsoring documents did his father disclose the propensity to violence that his son had not infrequently exhibited, nor did his father provide any information concerning the threats to do bodily harm to other members of his son's own family, which speaks to the fitness of his son to acquire gun certificates and gun permits, to own guns and rifles. Certificates and permits which allowed his son to own both the high-powered military style rifles, one of which he used to kill and maim, the other he thought about using on a second unsuspecting crowd he chanced upon, later the same day hundreds of miles from the first shooting rampage.
The father's actions were clearly reckless, criminally reckless.
When asked if the father was being investigated and if he could face possible charges, the local Lake County State's Attorney, sounded much like the prosecutor in the Rittenhouse case, in which, it appears that the defense, the prosecutor and the judge colluded and conspired to find, not guilty. Two people died, and Rittenhouse shot them, and yet he was found, not guilty.
Whether that shooter will prevail in the civil suits against him, is yet to be determined.
Although, it can be expected that the same 'white privilege' that allowed the father of the Highland Park shooter to sponsor his unstable son in acquiring the certificates, permits, guns and high-powered military-style rifles, will be the predominant determination in whether or not the father ever faces any charges in Lake County, Illinois. Charges that might include providing false statements, misleading, or the omission of pertinent information withheld from officials, and on official documents.
Witness Anderson Cooper, CNN, 7 July 2022, 8PM ET, when he asked an onsite reporter who had talked to local officials in Highland Park about the legal liability of the shooter's father for sponsoring the acquisition of the weapons used in the mass shooting. The reporter stated that officials had said that sponsoring was not a crime. And Cooper let it go at that.
Well, whereas sponsoring is not a crime, but not providing truthful answers to the questions on sponsorship documents, is a crime. So, whether not the father provided truthful answers is the questions, not just the simple act of sponsoring. But Cooper did not pursue the details, and left their viewers with the idea that there was nothing to investigate, which is not true.
But as one reads this article, one has to remember that Cooper worked for Jeff Zucker, the person who while associated with NBC, before moving to CNN, brought us Donald Trump and the Apprentice. Jeff Zucker it seems had an eye for entertainers, with little regard for details and facts.
If Cooper was honest, he would have mentioned the case of the Michigan school shooter's parents, who like the Highland Park mass shooter's father, assisted their son in acquiring the weapons he used to lethal effect, and they are being charged for their reckless behavior, as will the father of the Highland Park shooter. If, the State's Attorney pursues this case in the same way as the Michigan prosecutors i.e., everyone who is involved bears responsibility for their actions.
The victims should bring their own legal representatives into the case as soon as possible, because Eric Rinehart, the Lake County State's Attorney, is not representing them to the full extent that the law permits.
In fact, and in law, it makes no difference what the Highland Park shooter's father says, about not knowing what his son was going to do. Because his reckless behavior helped put the means to kill in his son's hands, and he was well aware of his son's propensity to violence, and lashing out at others with lethal weapons.
And that reckless behavior, in fact, and in law, is criminal, and the father will be charged inevitably, at a minimum, with multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter, as in the Oxford, Michigan case.
Eric Rinehart, the Lake County State's Attorney, has to run for re-election, in Lake County.
And we should make note of that name, Eric Rinehart, for he is ambitious.
