... beware the Trojan horse

Democrats plead for Bolton to testify, while Republicans outwardly object to his testifying, and even Rachel Maddow
and other cable news pundits parrot unquestioningly the demand for Bolton's testimony.
 
Notwithstanding the media chorus, this author is of the considered opinion that John Bolton, who has become irrelevant politically,
and who desperately wants back into the mainstream of US Conservative politics, is a Trojan horse, a trick. 

And, sees his way back into the fold, by being known as the man who saved Donald Trump from impeachment. 

Beware the Trojan horse.

​Legend of the Trojan Horse

... we will see the day when John Bolton, Don McGhan and Rudolph Giuliani
​ are disbarred from practicing law, forever

The ancient city of Troy was protected by a high wall built around the city.  Some parts of the wall were 20 feet high!  There were gates in the wall to let people in and out, but the wall provided great defense for the people of Troy, the Spartans. 

​The towering wall gave the Trojan warriors a relatively safe place to stand, while they rained arrows down on the Greek fighters below, who were trying to break into the city.

At the time of this legend, Greek warriors had been trying to breach the wall around the city of Troy for about ten years.  The Greeks could not find a way in, and the Trojans did not seem able to drive the Greeks away, a decade-long stalemate.

Things looked pretty hopeless until Odysseus, a famous Greek general, thought of a trick. 

It was customary in those times to leave a peace offering behind to admit defeat.  Odysseus suggested the Greeks build a huge, heavy, beautiful wooden horse, and leave it outside the gates of Troy.  Then, the entire Greek army would pretend to leave, as if they were headed for home.

​But it was a trick.

The horse would be hollow.  Thirty men would be hidden inside the hollow horse. 

The very best Greek artists got busy carving the giant wooden horse, adding great detail, because everything in the ancient Greek world had to be as beautiful as possible.

When the wooden horse was completed, the Greek warriors pretended to sail away, leaving the horse behind just outside one of the gates to the city of Troy. 

The people of Troy rushed outside, cheering their victory! 

They dragged the heavy wooden horse inside one of the city gates and put it on display, which is just what the Greek general thought they would do - gloat.

That night, while the Trojan people safe in their victory slept, the men hidden inside the wooden horse climbed out and opened the gates.

Whereupon, the waiting Greek army entered Troy.

​And, that was the end of the Spartan city of Troy.

If, John Robert Bolton was sincere in his interest that the truth be known, he would have testified before the House Intelligence Committee, and any pertinent information he possesses would already be a matter of record.

But John Bolton, as is also the case with Don McGhan are both US attorneys, and as such are not only officers of the court, but bear a special relationship to the truth and their responsibility to report illegal activity that they observe personally.  Both have withheld information from congress and have absurdly used or threatened to use the courts to obstruct their constitutionally mandated responsibility to testify before congress.

It may not happen immediately, but we will see the day when John Bolton, Don McGhan and Rudolph Giuliani will be disbarred from practicing law, forever.

politically, like so many other ex-Trump officials, and who desperately wants back into the mainstream of US Conservative politics, is a Trojan horse, a trick as it were. 

​This is the same John Bolton who wanted to, and became US Ambassador to the United Nations, not to join that deliberative body, and work within it, but to destroy it and withdraw the United States from the UN.

And, sees his way back into Trump world, by being known as a the man who saved Donald Trump from impeachment. 

Beware, the Trojan horse.
