We all knew that it would not be long into this crisis, before the news media injected themselves into the story.
Same station CNN, but this time it is not Kaitlan Collins, rudely and capriciously confronting President Biden in Geneva, we have Shimon Prokupecz, abruptly and curtly challenging law enforcement spokespersons in Uvalde, Texas, in the wake of a mass shooting that took the lives of 19 children and two teachers, and left 17 others injured, a total of 38 causalities. Like Kaitlan, we can now expect to see and hear a lot more from Shimon in the coming weeks and months. Shimon, like Kaitlan after Geneva, has arrived, and becomes yet another ringmaster in the media circus.
It might prove helpful, if the law enforcement officers who come to the microphone, could do something that they have not done historically, and that is, to show a little respect for the grieving and remove their hats. We all get the Texas thing, but under the circumstances, it is the least they can do.
This is Texas, and we all have been told by countless Texans that everything is big in Texas. The big lies by Governor Abbott, who praised the quick response by valiant local law enforcement officials in Uvalde, for confronting the shooter even before he entered the school building.
Mistakes are also big in Texas, which the actual handling of the mass shooting by local law enforcement officials at Robb Elementary School, in Uvalde, Texas, as opposed to Abbott's fairytale version of events, bears witness to.
Inexplicably, and tragically, the response to the active shooter was delayed while parents were being tackled and handcuffed by local police officers, while the gunman was still inside the school terrorizing and systematically killing children and their teachers, and injuring many others.
