Concord Project Dance provides free dance classes to 200 students, and will allow 21 dancers to study dance with top instructors and compete at a national level
Concord Dance is a non-profit dance program offering talented students, from a variety of economic backgrounds, the opportunity to develop their potential and pursue extraordinary goals. These students train year-round at minimal cost to develop their talent. They reach out to their community through performance, and inspire younger students with free after-school dance classes.
The program functions like a dance studio, with high school students taking class from trained professionals in ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop. Students, who would never be able to afford dance classes, receive quality training and performance opportunities. Guest artists are brought in from Chicago and LA to teach and choreograph for the group. Under the direction of Stephanie Roth Pairitz, the group has won both regional and national competitions. Students who struggled to find their place in high school, many of whom were at risk of dropping out, have found a home with Concord Dance.
The dancers, instructors, and many volunteers work hard at fundraising throughout the year to maintain the expenses of running the program (costumes, choreography, instruction, guest artists and travel expenses). However, in order to expand the free after-school dance program, and bring their dream of traveling to Orlando to study dance and compete at a national level to reality, we need your help.
What We Need: We are trying to raise $12,000 through this campaign, roughly half of the funds necessary. Students are working for the remaining $10,000 through performance, teaching workshops, and various other work projects. All donations will be tax-deductible and will go directly to workshop fees, travel expenses, and the expenses associated with providing free dance classes to school-aged children.
Your Impact: We are asking you to join us in providing students with the opportunity to dream big, create a clear vision of their potential, and develop a roadmap of how to reach exceptional goals. Investing in youth, who are investing in themselves through the art of dance, allows them to develop skills in creative problem-solving, establish a strong work-ethic, and foster a clear vision of their potential. Thisinvestment is critical to the future success of communities and businesses, helping these students develop into positive role models, and step up and lead as contributing members of our society.
Other Ways to Help: If you cannot contribute to our campaign financially, we ask that you help us get the word out. Send our Indiegogo link to friends and family. Help us make some noise about what we are doing in Indiana!
