Their lives remind us tragically, that as a nation, and as a people, we must take up the task of ‘trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored’ or be consumed by the wrath.
How fitting that the president should, and from Tucson, remind us that the founders of this great nation, sought to prepare, preserve, defend, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.
“… and that our task, working together, is to constantly widen the circle of our concern so that we bequeath the American Dream to future generations,” President Obama stated.
And, that “All of us – we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations,” the president concluded his remarks on the tragedy of Christina Taylor Green.
If there is to be a legacy from these sad days - let it be that.
